Certainty of Uncertainty

One thing I know is true, change is inevitable.  There is no sense in dreading it or avoiding it. No point in worrying or fretting about change. It will happen and knowing this I can choose how I will feel about it. Just like death, you can hold beliefs that death is just a transition from physical state to spiritual state, or you can believe it is the end, which to me is unbearably sad.  I choose to believe it is a transition, because that makes me feel better now. Whether I’m right or wrong doesn’t really concern me.  If I’m wrong, I won’t know the difference when the time comes and I’ve had peace when it mattered.  If I’m right, then I’ll rejoice and still, I’ve had peace when it mattered.

The same theory applies to change. It is as inevitable as death, and so I choose to view it as positive thing in my life. I will embrace every change, for the opportunity it gives me to grow and learn.  As such, change is a blessing. The curse would be to endure life without change, because it creates stagnant environment where growth is impossible. You can not grow as a person and have everything around you remain the same.   It’s impossible.

Recently I heard Anthony Robbins discussing the pros and cons of certainty.  So many people fear uncertainty, they resist change at all cost, even if they’re unhappy in their current circumstances.  While they cling to the comfort of certainty, they may also be very uncertain - of their purpose, their abilities, their choices.  Fear strangles their potential.

It is a fine line to walk between Certainty and Uncertainty.

Certainty Uncertainty
Change is Positive What I am meant to accomplish
I am growing as a person with each change Lessons I’m meant to learn
I am capable, intelligent and worthy of success Path I’m meant to travel

If these are confused with each other, my success in life and level of happiness will be very different.

The key is to stay focused and dedicated, but to allow flexibility.  Also, I must invite change into my life because only with change, can things be improved.
