Alan and I had our 17th wedding anniversary this weekend. It was VERY uneventful. Alan was working and I was home w/ a headache. Plus I was a wreak. Once again I am trying to get off my antidepressants because I hate being on them. I reduced my intake to every other day and then went cold turkey for about a week. After a very emotional weekend I decided to start taking them again. One nice thing did happen though. My mom took us all out to a nice steak house called Flemings. It’s not a place Alan and I would go to normally because it’s very pricey, so it was a nice treat. It was good to see the family too.
I really miss seeing everyone on a regular basis. I remember growing up Grandma would always have Sunday dinners, so I’d see everyone at least once a week. Now we all get so busy and tired with work, chores and errands, no one has the energy to do dinner every week. That was one of my resolutions for 2007, but then our house has been torn up the entire year, so I haven’t wanted company.
Even w/o the projects going on, the house has been a mess because the kids refuse to do their chores. Yesterday I was complaining to A so he’s in charge now. I hope it helps get the house in order. I’ll do a little bit here and there, but it all feels very pointless when the rest of the chores aren’t getting done. It just never seems to end. This has been a tough year w/ the house, yard, pool, etc., etc. and still no end in sight. I knew going into the deal w/ Gordon we were going to have to be patient, but I really had no idea how patient. Now the kids are planning a Halloween party and we’re having Thanksgiving at our house. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it all gets done by then.
