Austin

I just got back from Austin. I spent a week, with the purpose of finalizing solution papers, and left with more open items and frustration. This project has been a real learning experience for me, but mostly it’s been things NOT to do. Oh well, I just have to take a deep breath and not take on other people’s issues as my own. This isn’t my deliverable and at the end of the day I’m not accountable for the quality of the results.

The flight out was typical…too many bodies crammed in too small of a space. I just hate flying because the plane is so stuffy, hot and crowded. The flight is just over 2 hrs though, so I can handle that. Troy was on the flight too. It’s so weird that he’s on this team now. Just goes to show you can never burn bridges.

Tapan made arrangements for the team to go to dinner Thursday night. There were just a few of us, but it was very nice to see everyone out of the office. Unfortunately, we all end up talking about work. The meal was awesome. I had prawns and mashed potatos w/ green chili. I’m going to have to make them like that at home, because they were delicious. And we all LOVE mashed taters.

All in all it was an uneventful trip. The flight home was the same as the trip out, only stinky because some one nearby had gas (Gross!) and a guy took his shoes off. God, how inconsiderate do you have to be to take your shoes off on a plane? That has to be the worst thing ever. At least a fart could slip accidently, but his loafers didn’t slip off his feet.
