Weight Watchers - Week 1

5 down, 55 to go. Yes, that’s right; I lost 5 lbs. Yay for me! Of course it is the first week, and I know I can’t expect that kind of weight loss every week.

I have to say, I really haven’t felt too hungry or deprived. I actually eat a lot of food, because I choose low cal, low fat, high fiber options and they just don’t take up a lot of my points. I snack all day, which is supposed to be good for my metabolism. I think it works for me because I don’t get TOO hungry. If I get really hungry I want to eat anything and everything and I’m more likely to binge.

Over the last 2 years, I’ve finally learned what hunger feels like, and what satisfaction feels like. I used to eat to the point of being stuffed, because that was how I defined “satisfied”. I now know that being full isn’t my goal when I eat. That’s why I can eat an apple to curb my hunger until I eat a yogurt to curb my hunger until I eat a bowl of soup, and so on.

What I really need to change in my life is my activity level. Yes, I need to exercise, but not just that. I need to spend less time vegging in front of the TV or reading or napping…so my goal this week is to reduce TV viewing hrs to 10.

Baby steps…
